Slacker...that's me!

I have been really busy and have been neglecting our blog. I've decided to volunteer for a couple of things in our ward. I am still the Laurel Advisor and have also taken on many enrichment activities...oh wait, I mean Relief Society Meeting(I forgot about the change). So, my life has been a little full...but I thrive off of being busy. It makes me feel like I'm doing something to contribute to our ward. And mainly, I Love it!

So, Dan and I have some news. We are expecting nummer zwei to our family. I have been feeling great. I don't get sick..which I am very thankful for. I don't even feel like I am preggers. Maybe it's because I'm not thinking about myself...I have a 17 mos. old to think about and have fun with. It's been really great. Life just can't get any better!

Thanks for the Cute Pic. Kimmie & Jonnie

Oh, MAN!

So, I have been so lucky with Max and him being the perfect child. I never worried about going to do our Target or Costco runs, or going to the fabric store. He would sit their like a sweet little angel, watching me take forever on choosing new fabrics or buy more projects that will take me probably a whole year to finish. Anywho, I was at Michaels yesterday and he wanted to get out of the cart so I picked him up, but then he wanted to get down. So I set him down and he ran off...so I chased after him and he had the WORST FIT EVER. He literally made himself limp so I couldn't pick him up then proceeded to through himself down on the ground. So I am standing there trying to calm him down(with my face bright RED) and talk to him and There was this lady just watching me and shaking her head...I just wanted to say "WHAT, you never seen a Temper-Tantrum before....Keep moving on Lady." But I refrained. Then two other ladies came by and added "Terrible two's, huh" and I said"he's 14 mos"...ladies said"oh I guess they came early". All the comments and head shaking totally helped, thanks, not. Anyways, I have never seen him like this. I am hoping this is a once in a life time thing...but I seriously doubt that. Hey, I can dream right.

Good Times.

Family Reunion in Kingman, AZ

We had a great time seeing the whole family in Arizona, needless to say Max was sick the whole time. He had a temp of 102 degrees so the ride down there I was holding Max in the back seat hoping that Dan wouldn't crash the car. The drive took a little over 9 hours with the temp outside almost at almost boiling point....You could fry an egg in this heat!

So this is Max in his seat for about 2 hours and then wasn't having it for the rest of the ride. But I do have to say he was an angel in my arms the whole time...Funny how that works out.

Dan was awesome about taking on the driving alone...He just needed a couple of Full Throttles and we were ZOOMING!!!

Since we were in AZ we had to go to the Grand Canyon. I hadn't been here since I was 8 or so and it was really amazing...a must see.
Of course we had to block the path to get the perfect photo...hey there was only a million of us.
This pic was great...we were trying to get the immediate family in th pic and it was quite a challenge....Dan had just stepped on Jen's toes....Grandpa telling Russ where to stand...Karen trying to find a place so she doesn't fall off the mountain side...and Grandma just laughing away.....oh...and of course Greg is not pictured cuz...he is terrified of heights....I mean really really terrified of heights.......so he waited for the last second to get on the scene. But what a great photo of the Skubal Family.

Here we have the "Mohawk Brothers" Max and Jake love being around one another. Jake watches out for Max and Max laughs at all his funny faces.

Just enjoying a little nature...

These are the Funny faces that our Jake Makes to get our Max to Laugh...
We all gathered together at the Local LDS church to watch the fireworks show at the fairgrounds. I don't know why but every where I go churches...especially LDS churches have the best views on the 4th of July

Before we went out to enjoy the fireworks we had a feast and a little contest to see who would make the best ribs...and what da you know my Dan won!!! They taste so good!!! The Fascination first started when I was craving ribs when I was pregnant...so since Dan and I ate them all the time....he perfected the art.

As you can see we...as in Dan and I enjoyed the fireworks...but Max was not too happy....He hated the loud BOOOMS!!! It made him sad:(
We also went to Trey's baptism and so here are the boy cousins being roudy in the hallway....oh wait that's my son tackling Jake....No more WWF with Daddy before you go to bed!!!
We also drove on Route 66...well you couldn't miss it cuz it runs straight through Kingman...Oh yes we were getting our Kicks on Route 66!!!

And here we are taking the Long, Hot, Desolate, drive home to civilization....Thanks for some great fun Skubal Family!!!

My Favorite Things

I have narrowed it down to the many things I Love about my MAX...
I Love to style and gel his hair every morning...
...and read his favorite book with him...

...and am very grateful...he likes to sleep a ton too....

...He grunts and talks very loud to get peoples attention...

....more hair doing.......

....absolutely loves his fire truck...and also uses it to climb on the furniture...

....loves to smile at anything and everyone....

....loves to be a nude-da all the time....(cause he thinks he's going to take a bath... and yes, he will be the next Micheal Phelps....)

....enjoys watching the squirrels every morning through the window while attempting to eat breakfast...(Just doesn't like food that much but we're working on it)....

...He likes to pretend to talk on the phone (I always let him talk to Dadda on my cellphone while he's at work)...

.....he has a thing about holding things, like his bat, in his hands all the time.....

...He likes the thrill of the swing and his favorite..."THE UNDERDOG"....

Helmet Head

Ok, so I am so sick of my child hitting his head on everything. He is still a little whobbly with the walkin thing and sometimes even looks like a drunken sailor. He wants to sprint everywhere, especially when he sees something he really is interested in, like the front door opening (And we go outside all the time!). He could careless about steps and just jumps down off of them. He got the dare-devil nature from his mother...but I can't say that I like it much. So...I'm thinking about putting a helmet on his noggin. I have counted his bruises and scrapes on his head and we are at a total of 7.

Okay, so I'm not going to put a helmet on his head...but maybe we'll wrap him in sti-ra-foam?

Memorial Weekend

Every year we take our annual camping trip to Gualala up highway 1. We have such a blast being with family and friends and eating till our stomachs burst. We also love going to the river and climbing on the log and doing some killer can-openers...& my husband is the best at those(well it is because he can't dive...for reals, for reals).
"The KILLER can-opener"

Hanging out with cousin, Chantilly-lace.

Best Buds for Life

A Day at the Oakland Zoo

We had such a good time at the Zoo, but there were animals that were hard to find...I felt like I was in the movie Jurassic Park and asking "Uh,...you do have Dinosaurs(animals) at this park." It was a little too hot for the wild life to come out of the shade.
We thought Max looked so silly in his Oakland Zoo hat...he thought it was funny too.

I love this pic of Max looking at the Elephants or what we like to call them Nelaphants.

If you look really closely you can see the Crocodile just floating and relaxing in the water.
All I have to say about Bats is "YUK."
They got rabbies you know...ShaCocka...Shawshank redemption...Chicago...oh your out of here.
Max didn't know what to think about the goats...

Max is our walking boy now...it is soooo much fun...he just wants to run around outside and never come in.

In the last couple of months Max has decided to copy us and the copy-cat move that we love most is when he pats my back with both hands...it is so cute. I always pat his back...you know after feedings, to comfort him...so he decided to comfort Mama back. I just love it!!!

This picture makes my heart melt. I have the best Guys in the whole world!!!
